A Kutani teapot is teapot make from the Katani type of ceramics. The origin of Kutani teapots can be traced back to small village in the mountains of Ishikawa Prefecture. The term Kutani means nine valleys. Kanazawa, the main city, is defiantly one of the most famous castle towns in all of Japan. Kutani teapots and ceramics are not known very well outside of Japan. On the other hand they have a huge following inside Japan, this is because Kutani teapots and ceramics do a very good job of authentically representing Japanese culture.
