The Brown Betty Teapot has a clear path through history with its start in the end of the 17th Century. It is believed by many to be the direct ancestor of the British Ceramic Teapot. At it's heart it is an unglazed teapot crafted from the rich red clay from the area around Bradell Woods in Stoke-on-Trent.

To this day the Brown Betty Teapot is still made by hand in the Stoke-on-Trent from the same rich red clay from the same hills that it that gave birth to it over three hundred years ago. Many British people strongly believe that the Brown Betty Teapot still produces the best cup of tea. There is some debate as to it being because the shape of the pot or that lovely rich red clay.
